Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, was the influential former leader of the Welsh nationalist political party Plaid Cymru and also known as the Senedd's "founding father." He served as an MP, led Plaid Cymru between 1984 and 1991, was appointed to the House of Lords, and later served as Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism. He died on February 7, aged 78.
