Eyewitnesses reported seeing police cars and ambulances at the scene of an incident in Pentwyn in the Penyrheol area of Caerphilly. A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "We were called to an address in Pentwyn at around 3.55pm on Monday, November 8, following reports of a dog attack." The animal was subsequently destroyed by firearms officers at the scene. Forensics officers were still at the scene on Monday evening with another police car also present and several houses cordoned off as officers controlled access to the scene.
